The Peanut Cactus (Echinopsis chamaecereus) (Friedrich & Glaetzle) is a low-maintenance cactus perfect for beginners. Its distinctive finger-like stems can reach up to 12.0" in length and gracefully cascade from its pot. In late spring, it presents stunning large flowers in shades of orange to red. This Argentinian species forms a dense, creeping mat of stems and features short, bristly spines that are surprisingly gentle. As a young plant, the Peanut cactus resembles a peanut, but as it grows older, it elongates and begins to cascade out of its container. It is known for easily producing offsets, creating a charming cluster of cacti. It is sensitive to frost, so if there is a chance of freezing temperatures, bring it inside to thrive on a sunny windowsill or under a grow light.

Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt, you will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. It is advised to handle this plant with caution and use gloves or tongs as it is covered in spines.

A wonderful edition!
Format: Paperback
I highly recommend this edition above all others available. The translation is very clear and lucid and actually makes Timaeus and Critias real page-turners. Not only is the translation great, but the introductory material is incredible. While one review here mentions that the translation misses some of the nuance of Platonic thought (which I don't necessarily agree with that), the introduction more than makes up for that. So many available editions of Timaeus are written by reluctant scholars who act puzzled as to why they've been asked to introduce Timaeus when they are obviously either not fond of it, or dismissive of it as an authentic piece of Plato's canon. At last, we have an edition that is faithful and generous to the source material!
